Tanya Schloms BSc
Research Assistant
Tanya Schloms is currently a Research Assistant at RCSI and a member of the Endocrine Oncology Research Group. She is currently supporting projects focused on the role of androgens in breast cancer and developing 3D lab-based models to investigate cancer-related cachexia. She completed her BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Stellenbosch University in 2018, followed by an Honours degree in Microbiology in 2019. After a brief time working in project management and as an industry technician using 3D bioprinters, she realized her heart was firmly in science and returned to academic research. With a strong interest in bridging lab research and real-world impact, she hopes to keep building a career in cancer research—one that’s hands-on, collaborative, and meaningful.
